Faith That Pleases God, Hebrews 11:6

Scripture:

“But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6, KJV

God is pleased when we come to Him with faith. Faith believes that God exists, that He is good, and that He rewards those who seek Him. Faith is trust that moves our hearts, our words, and our actions toward Him.

Why this matters for us
In a noisy world, many things compete for our attention. Hebrews 11:6 invites us to return to the center. We come to God, we believe Him, and we seek Him with steady love. When we do this, our lives gain clarity, strength, and hope.

Live it this week, a simple plan

  • Day 1, Come to God: Take five quiet minutes. Say, “Father, I come to You by faith.” Read Hebrews 11:6 slowly.
  • Day 2, Believe His Character: Write two truths about God you believe. For example, God is faithful, God hears. Thank Him for each truth.
  • Day 3, Seek Him in Prayer: Set a ten minute timer. Pray for your family, your church, and one person who needs encouragement.
  • Day 4, Seek Him in Scripture: Read Hebrews 11:1 to 11:6. Note one example of faith and one step you can take today.
  • Day 5, Act on Faith: Do one small act of obedience. Forgive someone, give generously, or speak a kind word that points to Christ.
  • Day 6, Share Your Hope: Tell a friend how God met you this week. Invite them to read Hebrews 11:6 with you.
  • Day 7, Rest and Reflect: Thank God for His rewards, His presence, His guidance. List three ways you sensed Him this week.

A simple prayer
Lord, I come to You by faith. I believe You are real, near, and good. Teach me to seek You with a steady heart. Reward this seeking with Your presence, wisdom, and love, through Jesus. Amen.

Reflection questions

  1. What makes it hard for me to come to God with faith right now
  2. What does diligent seeking look like in my current season
  3. Where did I see God reward simple faith this week

One practice to keep
Choose a daily time to seek God. Keep it short and faithful. Five to ten minutes with Scripture and prayer will shape your heart more than you think.
